Ball Policy.
At the 2022 Annual General Meeting, members voted to pass a motion that would bring back an old HPTC policy of helping provide balls to members for play.
Below is a breakdown of the finalized policy.
HPTC provides tennis balls for members' recreational play.
For financial and environmental sustainability purposes, new balls are only supplied when there are no reasonable quality balls to use on court.
If there are no balls on your court, or if the balls are no longer playable please visit staff at the clubhouse. The replacement balls may be a used tin or a new tin, depending on availability. Staff have the final say on the playability of the balls. Members shall respect the staff’s decision.
If you are playing outside of staff hour, the balls will be placed outside of office window. You can also use the member's code to enter the clubhouse between 8am to 10:30pm. The balls will be on the left side, above the mailbox. (Club codes are exclusively used by members and cannot be shared with non-members.)
After you play, if there are no members after you, please bring the balls back to the clubhouse. Please do not leave the balls on the court unattended.
If you typically play with new balls or play competitive games, please bring your own balls. The available balls provided by the club may not meet your standards for play.
HPTC aims to donate end-of-life balls for good causes. Presently, the club donates the balls to the City of Toronto's programs.
