Ratings Policy

Players must have an NTRP rating assessed by one of our club professionals in order to participate in HPTC’s programs including teams, ladders, lessons , and the year-end tournament.

Players without a club issued NTRP rating at the time of registration may still attend tryouts. Players are grouped by rating when attending tryouts. To register for the correct group, please self-rate according to this chart. Your playing level will be assessed at tryouts and that NTRP rating will be added to your member account.

Players that wish to update their club rating may book a re-rating session. For more information on first rating or re-rating options, please see the Ratings Policy section in the Member's Area of this site or navigate to Adult Programs in your club account to check for session availability.

2026 Intercounty Tryouts

Intercounty Team Tryouts – What You Need to Know

We’re excited to start planning for the upcoming Intercounty season! This year, tryouts in April 2026 are focused on players who are new to Intercounty or looking to move between teams.

Who should attend?

You must register for a tryout if you fall into any of these categories:

• New to the Club - You haven’t played Intercounty at Howard Park Tennis Club before.

• First-Timers - You’re a member who has never played on an intercounty team.

• Returning Players - You’re coming back after a hiatus.

• Team Changers - You want to move to a different team (e.g., moving from C to B).

Who can skip tryouts?

• If you plan to return to the same team you played on last year, you do not need to attend. We will email you directly to confirm your interest.

Next Steps:

• Action - Fill out the Tryout Interest Form by March 30, 2026.

• Dates - Two sessions in April (exact dates coming soon).

• Teams will be finalized by May 1, 2026.
