Clubhouse Update

Our members approved spending $22,000, by unanimous vote at the March 15, 2008 winter tennis social at Mayfair Raquet Club.

The 2008 year looks like we will have significant progress towards improving our Clubhouse. The City has agreed to split costs with replacement of the second floor carpet, re-tiling the first floor with the same material as the womens' changeroom, as well as painting the entire interior and fixing any plasterboard problems throughout. Estimates total approximately $35,000, and plans are to complete the work during the spring.

The Board recommends that we share the costs for these items with the City, We ask your approval to spend half, or $17,500. It is our understanding that there may be cost overruns and applicable taxes.

You may be aware that the Clubhouse furniture is also quite old and worn. So along with the interior renovations, the Board would like to purchase new chairs and couches for a lounge area for members to hang out  and watch our wide screen cable TV between matches. The Club has adequate funds to cover all costs and requests members to authorize $22,000 total for these projects.
